Bringing Christians together across denominational and racial lines is central to our work. In recent years, we have expanded to include exploring and encouraging interfaith dialogue, as well as creating Covenant Partner status. The Covenant Partner program refers to the relationship we have with other faith-based and secular organizations who share our concern for issues of peace and justice. We believe our shared faithful call to social justice is stronger than our differences, and the Council’s Christian Unity Committee has taken a leadership role in bringing diverse voices to the table to broaden understanding.
The committee has produced two short documents that attempt to distill what has been gained through their project bringing together Christians, Muslims and Jews to discuss our shared sacred texts:
