Extremism & Gun Violence: What are the Connections
September 21 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us and coalition partners as we continue the conversation on gun violence safety and prevention. This event will open with a presentation describing the connections between extremism and gun violence, continue with presentations by leading NC gun safety advocates Gerald Givens (Raleigh-Apex NAACP President) and Kaaren Haldman (Vice Chair, Durham Racial Equity Task Force) and conclude with small group breakout sessions. In our discussions, we will raise awareness of the issue of gun violence prevention while offering a space for respectful, open conversation.
This town hall conversation is part two of a two-part series. Part one, titled “Community and Law Enforcement: Building the Bridge,” will take place on Tuesday, September 15, from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration details for part one will be available in the coming days.
Co-sponsors: Raleigh-Apex NAACP, MomsRising, North Carolinians Against Gun Violence, Public Schools First NC, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Action NC, Giffords, Durham Racial Equity Task Force
