HK on J March

David LaMotte, Consultant for Peace · January 20, 2011 · 3 Comments

The Historic Thousands on Jones St. (HK on J) rally and march will take place on February 12 in Raleigh.  A coalition of nearly a hundred social justice and community development organizations, including the North Carolina Council of Churches, have banded together to promote this event for the last several years.

This year’s HK on J march is focusing on three issues: 1) educational equality, 2) equal protection under the law and 3) economic justice and workers’ rights. Please feel free to bring signs pertaining to those three issues and join us on February 12, which is also the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the NAACP.

The march will begin at 9:30 Am in front of Estey Hall at Shaw University, 118 East South St. in Raleigh and march to the NC legislature.

For more information, please visit the HK on J website.
