Oasis of Hope Ministries

Oasis of Hope Ministries is located in Henderson, NC in Central North Carolina. Oasis of Hope Ministries has been centering faith, health, and well-being in their ministry for almost 4 years now. Some of the programs they offer include nutrition seminars, free exercise classes, a community health fair, and an annual mile challenge, just to name a few.

Church Administrator Chalis Henderson shared with us some of the ways in which Oasis of Hope has adapted to meet the needs of their community throughout the pandemic: “Oasis of Hope is providing fresh produce boxes to families in our community and serves as a hot lunch meal distribution site. In partnership with Turning Point Community Development Corportation (CDC), we are continuing our Simple+Beneficial health and wellness programming by providing easy recipes that can be achieved using items in the produce boxes, offering online workshops, and socially distanced outdoor walking small groups to encourage people to stay healthy during this time. Our greatest reward is being able to meet the nutrition needs of families in our community during this trying time.”

Oasis of Hope Ministries has been a partner faith community through the PHW Collaborative since 2018. We are grateful to them for their continued commitment to guiding their community in maintaining health and well-being by providing nutritious food and educational resources during this important  time of need. To learn more about Oasis of Hope Ministries, visit their website at https://www.oasisofhopemin.org/.

We encourage you to share with us what your faith community is doing right now by emailing information and photos to Lindsay Barth, PHW Communications Associate, at lindsay@ncchurches.org.
