Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope Film Screening

January 25, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Public schools have a critical role to play in helping kids build resilience to face Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Education, pediatric, and social welfare experts believe that if we want better education and health outcomes for kids (and communities) we must have helping professionals in our schools – social workers, counselors, child psychologists, and nurses – to mitigate and provide buffers to our children in dealing with the effects of ACEs.

Join us for a free screening of “Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope”, a 60-minute documentary about ACEs featuring Dr. Nadine Burke Harris.

Featured panelists include:
Valerie Foushee, North Carolina State Senator
Dr. Todd Wirt, Superintendent of Orange County Schools
Nicole Roman, District 15B Guardian Ad Litem Administrator

While the event is free, prior registration is preferred so that organizers may send you handouts prior to the screening and notify you of any changes due to weather.

Registration can be completed by clicking here.
