2014 Faith & Health Summit: Calling All Volunteers

Willona Stallings, Former Program Coordinator – Partners in Health & Wholeness · September 15, 2014 · Leave a Comment

The NC Council of Churches’ 2014 Faith and Health Summit is now less than a month away, and we are delighted to have people of faith, public health professionals, faith and health experts, and other community members from all across the state joining us. The event will be held on Friday, October 10 at Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. If you have not yet registered to attend, please do so today!  Click here to complete your registration by the September 29 deadline.

We are also in need of volunteers to help make the Faith and Health Summit a success. More specifically, we are looking for individuals to assist Council staff with the following:

  • Making sure sessions begin and end on time
  • Parking assistance
  • Helping with registration
  • Assisting with lunch (e.g., making sure that food waste and other materials go into the proper compost bins)
  • Directing people to their workshops
  • Set-up/Clean-up

And, last but not least, we are inviting interested persons to join our community choir, which will perform during morning worship.  No prior choir experience is required, just a heart for service and the building of God’s kingdom.

If you’re interested in volunteering at this year’s Faith and Health Summit, please email Willona Stallings, PHW Program Coordinator, at willona@ncchurches.org by Monday, September 22. To participate in the community choir, please email Nicole Johnson, PHW Intern, at johnnm13@wfu.edu as soon as possible, but no later than September 22.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

About Willona Stallings, Former Program Coordinator – Partners in Health & Wholeness

Partners in Health and Wholeness (PHW) connects congregations with existing resources in the community and provides them with the tools necessary (sometimes in the form of mini-grants) to implement healthier practices, policies and programs. I live in Raleigh and enjoy good food, area greenways and bargain shopping.
